Chaos New Year

by | Jan 1, 2026

Well before we even got to get our feet into the new year, chaos ensued. 2026 is the commemoration year of 250 years of Independence as a country. A country infamously built on stolen land with the tools of genocide and reshaped by stolen bodies and slave labor. This we know. As we take strides in technology and knowledge we seemingly also take regular giant steps back in social growth, policy, politics, law, faith.

The powers that be make it harder and harder for the working class and low-income/poor people to stand up and say that we don’t want the current systems let alone resist in ways to change/break the current systems. What do we do then? We lean toward mutual aid, mutual care and not just aid when there is an urgent need. Mutual aid that creates long standing care, rooted support and community commitment. Going back to knowing our neighbors, knowing we are stronger together and that WE truly take care of each other.
