As many of us sit wondering if our wages will cover bills and groceries this month or whether we can access health care, afford our medications or be denied again for mobility aids the Trump regime jumps to attack yet another country that raises fears and questions if this is the start of World War 3. There always seems to be money for war, while so many suffer without basic needs.
This week oil prices jumped above $100/barrel meaning we are already feeling the effects of the Trumps regime’s warmongering. The desperation to stretch our paychecks is impacting so many that more than 60% of those polled disagree with the actions of the U.S. war machine. So, what do we do? Lean in on local support resources, food pantries, free stuff on apps, sharing with neighbors/friends/family, checking in on elderly neighbors, meal share if you are able, carpool and get involved locally. Many grassroots and nonprofit orgs started to fill an unmet need in community. Also use your voice, we know it doesn’t feel like we are heard and change right now feels impossible but there are still systems in place that could real change. Vote, attend local city council meetings and follow the money trail and learn how to interact with your representatives.
We deserve more and we can create the changes we want to see.
